The running teams came from around 200 companies in the region around Würzburg - all ready to take on the 7.4 km distance.
This year, however, the company run had to become the "Summer Night Run": The starting signal at the Dallenberg was postponed due to the extreme heat. The runners did not start at 19 o'clock as planned, but at 21 o'clock. The high temperatures also caused some cancellations at short notice, so instead of 4,700, only around 3000 registered company runners actually took part.
Despite everything, the event was again a complete success. The 7.4-kilometre circuit led the runners from the Dallenbergbad along the Main to the “Alte-Main-Brücke” and back. A manageable course that even hobby runners like to take.
The good organization and the additional drinking stations contributed to a successful evening without incidents. With 3000 runners and the high temperatures it was important to find your own rhythm. For many of them it was a matter of performing properly on the one hand, but also not suffering from any health problems on the other. The goal of many runners was also to improve the time of the previous year.
WEGMANN automotive found 70 running-enthusiastic employees across the various departments who were able to motivate themselves to run despite the heat. With numerous spectators at the side of the track, all employees were able to successfully master the course of this year's "Summer Night Run" and then end the evening at a leisurely runner's party in the Dallenbergbad.
For WEGMANN automotive, the company run was also a successful conclusion to the company's own "Fit with WEGMANN" sports programme. With the WEGMANN sports and fitness programme, employees can stay fit in various sports such as strength training, swimming, jogging or spinning and prepare together for the annual company run. In addition, there is a free health check-up for all employees.
We are looking forward to the next company run - according to our value: We win and improve every day!
